Terms of Service

Last Updated: August 17, 2026

Plain-English summary; legally binding. If you install or use BranchPy, you agree to these terms.

1) Who we are

BranchPy ("we", "us") provides BranchPy Studio — a desktop workspace for Ren'Py and Godot project analysis — together with associated developer tools.

2) Using the site and downloads

You must be at least 13, and have authority to agree if acting for a company. Don't break the law, abuse the service, or try to harm our infrastructure.

3) Accounts and billing

Some features may require an account or license key. You're responsible for keeping credentials safe. Paid plans are fixed-term licenses (30 days or one year) and do not auto-renew. Taxes may apply.

4) Licenses

Website content is licensed to you for personal or business viewing. Software (CLI/installer/add-on) is licensed under the Software EULA.

5) Feedback

Feedback is voluntary and may be used to improve BranchPy without obligation to you.

6) Third-party services

BranchPy integrates with tools like GitHub and Visual Studio Code. Their terms apply to those services.

Cloud Connector Services (Pro/BetaTester)

BranchPy Studio offers optional Cloud Connectors for GitHub, Google Drive, and Amazon S3. By using these features you agree that:

  • You are responsible for complying with each cloud provider's own Terms of Service and usage policies.
  • BranchPy connects to these services on your behalf using credentials you authorize; you may revoke access at any time through your cloud provider's account settings.
  • Cloud Connectors download project files to your local machine only. BranchPy does not store or process your cloud project files on its servers.
  • Third-party providers include: GitHub (github.com/terms), Google LLC (policies.google.com/terms), and Amazon Web Services (aws.amazon.com/service-terms). BranchPy is not affiliated with these services and is not responsible for their availability, policies, or actions.
  • Cloud Connector features require a valid Pro or BetaTester licence and may be modified, restricted, or discontinued independently of the core Studio product.

7) Disclaimers

BranchPy is provided "as is". We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that issues will be corrected.

8) Liability limit

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim (or CAD $50 if none).

9) Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your unlawful use of BranchPy or violation of these terms.

10) Changes

We may update these terms; we will post the new date here. Continued use means you accept the changes.

11) Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and Canada. Venue: Montréal, Québec.
